Obs from AST 2 today: Weather: Sunny. light East winds, -10c at TL Snowpack: Heavily wind affected surfaces, test profile at TL 1550m S asp 33 deg. 165cm snowpack depth. We noted the buried crust/facet interface down 80cm that is mentioned in the bulletin. On a rutschblock test we had an RB3 down 20cm in the storm snow, whole block failure, and an RB5 down 80cm on the Jan crust/facet with a whole block failure. Avalanches: numerous windslabs from size 2-2.5 on windloaded E-SE asp at TL and Alp - steep terrain. Several with good propagations may have involved the deeper layers - hard to tell as crowns are blown in.
