Quick report

Cracking
specific

Lots of deep snow especially in open areas, we had deep snow immersion on our minds today. Storming hard all morning, skin tracks were filling in between laps. Low elevations still feeling pretty thin but coverage seems to be improving, ca. 150cm HS at 3400’ at 10am. Ski quality was excellent if you could maintain momentum, but snowpack felt increasingly touchy as the storm snow stacked up.

Avalanche

Easily triggered many small (4-8” crowns) soft storm slabs, some with widely propagation connecting between features. We were remotely triggering small convexities from up to ~40 ft. Also heard a large natural(?) avalanche in the widowmaker with a powder cloud reaching valley bottom.
