Quick report
After exiting the fuhrer finger, we were on the wilson glacier, heading out towards pano point. I skied on top of a mound, and then dropped down a rollover on the other side. Right as I dropped, I noticed a crack in the snow. At the time, I thought it was a small crevasse opening. So I kept the skis perpendicular to it and skied over it. Right after skiing over it, the crack started widening. My initial thought was that the crevasse was widening as the glacier moved, until I realized with a moment of panic that it was a slab that broke off, and I was on it. I first tried to ski left out of it, then right, but couldn't get out. It picked up speed, knocked me off my feet, and then I was along for a horrific ride. I had so much speed and was getting thrown around so violently that I was really scared during the slide. Somehow I miraculously avoided several large rocks that were in the slide path. I started swimming to try to get on top of it, and was relieved when it came to a stop and I was alive and only partially buried.
