Quick Observation

Found some great skiing in boot top powder today on an east facing path. We felt no whumpfing or cracking on our tour up, and the only avalanches we saw were loose dry avalanches that were likely solar triggered, no slabs. There were some gusty NW winds in the afternoon. Our test pit at 1800m showed a total snowpack of 160cm and no significant results in any of our tests (CT, ECT and DTT). The Mid Dec depth hoar was down about 100cm but seemed to be bonded well to overlying layers.
