Quick report
Left the Elk Meadows TH at about 9:30 with the goal being to ski in the Brushy Fork, Skookum Lake area. Winds were calm in the valleys but I did observe ridge top transport, especially to our south around Moose lake. Temps were warm for the time of year but I don't think it got above freezing while we were out there, and there wasn't enough solar gain to feel any warming of snow surfaces where we traveled. We dug a pit at 6934' (ish) and the results were as follows: HS: 220 ECTP 28 down 78cm on suspected facets below a .5cm crust. Failure was planer. We skied terrain in the low to mid 30° range with no signs of instability. We chose to avoid terrain over 35° or any terrain over 30° with a large connected slab

Spotted a partially filled in crown lower on N facing slope around 6900ft. Crown looked to be over 30cm, even being partially filled in. My guess is that it ran sometime last week mid storm. In the attached pic, the most note worthy crown is the lowest one, and the debris was still visible. My guess is that it could have been a d2 based on the crown. The upper highlighted appeared to be a more recent storm or wind slab that did not break nearly as deep, as viewed from a distance.
