Avalanche Information

We triggered a size 2 in teddy bear trees today. No whoompfing or cracking on the uptrack and good stability within densed tree protection. We dug a pit and had a sudden plainer after 11 hits on the compression test. We decided to ski the open, spaced out trees on the skiers left and experienced strong interior wind effects in steep pockets. Those winds combined with warm temperatures formed a cohesive layer failing on the 60 cm buried surface hoar/sunskin layer underneath. Stick to protected terrain. Stay conservative.
