Quick Observation
Need to walk about 2 kms from the parking until there’s enough base to skin. Several mud slides from Wednesday’s rain created a few mud mounds on the road up, now slightly covered with new snow but still soft. All the streams all the way up to the turn off from the road to the trail are exposed and skis need to be removed every time. Things are skiable from about 1500m and above also in the trees without scuffing the skis. But the snow is hard and wet. Stayed on mellow slopes. Lots of work for pretty horrible skiing..
Avalanche Information
Saw the aftermath of 2 avalanches. First was north aspect on a steep slope across the valley from the hut. The second was east aspect and looks like it was triggered by the debris of another avalanche that happened higher up on the south east slope of planetary peak. There wasn’t much visibility to the higher slopes to see more.
