Morrisey riding area

Went and checked out the recently opened Morrisey riding area, with a few questions in mind about the snowpack we found an open untracked area to dig a profile at 1890m on a northeast-facing slope. 1. Wind slab distribution and reactivity: We found the recent wind had developed soft slabs at treeline 5 - 20 cm deep. We had no shooting cracks while traveling and no test results on this layer. 2. We wanted to know about the facets on the Dec 4 rain crust. The crust was down 140 cm and was not reactive to a deep tap test (a test used when layers are deeper than approximately 100 cm) 3. We also looked for surface hoar and did not find any in this area. The day was still cold -18 but there was no wind, we did see a small size 1 wind slabs but they were older.
