Avalanche Information

Generally snowpack stability was better than expected. 30cm of light, unconsolidated snow had fallen overnight, with a depth range of 15 to 45cm depending on aspect. Quick pit results: new storm snow had zero resistance to fist pen and disintegrated on third finger tap during compression test. Mellow slopes skied well with no signs of movement or obvious settling. At one point we strayed a little further left than intended above a small but steep and unsupported slope. Snowboarder entered carefully on a traverse just below the top of the slope and it released immediately. 15cm crown above a soft bed surface. We ski cut the remaining hangfire and skied out on the bed.
