Snowpack

Quick pit for some layer ID and testing Surface hoar up to 2cms in open areas in BTL and TL on most aspects and elevations we observed, on our short venture up to the edge of the alpine it looked like the wind had knocked down any surface hoar development. Generally solid upper and mid pack, top 20cms was a layer of fist DFs over another 12cms of 4F snow, from there down to 115cms we found 3 seperate layers of mostly rounds although we did not spend much time on Christal ID. These layers ranged from 1F to 1F+, with no clear interfaces or interruptions between layers. We Did not find the Dec 2 crust within the top 115cms, it's possible that we were high enough elevation to be above the crust, but also possible we did not dig deep enough to find it. We did one compression test with a result of: CTM 11 RP down 15 on DFs 1.0- 2.0
