Quick Observation
Lots of skin tracks visible on the skylines around Rogers Pass! Valley inversion remained in place all day. We noticed surface hoar development at around 1800m. There was cold dry snow on western aspects all the way up to 2000m. At around 1800-2200m there was some evidence of solar input, with small rollerballs and thin crust development. We came upon a large cornice collapse on the eastern side of NRC Gully, from party days prior (on a previous MIN report). Eastern side of NRC Gully was firm and largely wind affected. South side of MacDonald had a strong mix of wind/sun crust until around 2400m, after which sun impact was lessened and there was still protected cold snow in spots. There's many different flavors of wind and sun crust around that will be sliding surfaces for the next cold snow that comes.
