Skied two laps up behind the Great Divide Lodge where we found enough snow for skiing but still a bit thin to ski fast or hard. Lots of buried trees showing and the main creek/drainages in the area have yet to fill in and have running water. Even so still a good time for those happy with Rockies tree skiing. We found light wind affect top to bottom in the trees but not enough to create any kind of slab or skiing issue. We had a quick look over at the Paget Avalanche Path and the surface snow was a dense 10cm wind slab over powder like snow. I would guess that you could probably ski along the trim line of the path for turns though. No sign of new avalanches but we barely stuck our heads out of the trees. Lots of wind and low clouds charging through Kicking Horse Pass today.
