Shooting cracks and whumpfing while breaking trail. Cracks propagating >30 m horizontal and fracturing ~10 m above us while skinning across a 30 degree, N facing boulder field. 30-35 cm of low density snow sitting on a supportive crust made for excellent ski conditions in low angle trees. Challenging skiing on the bed surface where slopes have run. Mod-strong ridgetop winds at 3:00 pm.

30 cm soft slab propagated ~15 m after stomping on a pillow. Slide ran through open trees and boulders. Ran on facets overlying last week's crust. Start zone was at ridge crest. Ski cut a second size 1 avalanche mid slope on a convex roll. 0.3m x 10 m x 10m.
