Coordinates

55.148135, -127.238137

Quick Observation

No naturals. Alpine was fairly wind affected on East/south facing terrain we saw. Lots of sleds and skiers coexisting, great to see. One gent wrecked his sled due to early season hazards, still have to be careful.

Weather

Clouds heavy and limited visibility at 1500m. Clouds rising throughout afternoon. Less wind than anticipated.

Snowpack

The obvious crust from last week's rain was about 30cm down, but not reactive. A column test failed after many hard smacks (CTH27) much lower down on the November crust/facet interface. An extended Colum only failed while prying with a shovel, resulting in an uneven break along the same facet/crust layer. Variable alpine snow pack from 120-180. Obvious wind effect at higher elevations, great skiing below 1800m.
