Quick Observation

Definitely still need another couple of storms before the Bullmoose riding area is good to go as it's pretty thin out there. Alpine and tree line areas have between 10 and 50cm on average - not quite enough to feel comfortable sidehilling without feeling like you might hit something and snap an A-Arm. It was also a balmy -17C topped off with strange freezing rain at times that iced up our goggles. At least it wasn't windy! The best riding that we found was down in sheltered trees where here was a total of 90cm. We found a surface hoar layer down about 20cm (we wern't able to find it at upper elevations at all) and a rain crust down about 30 (pointing to it in pit photo.) We didn't have any significant results with our snowpack tests and saw no signs of avalanches.
