We spent the day at Lucille for our “Choose Your Own Adventure” outreach event. We had a great day teaching a small group about snowpack structure, how to apply the avalanche bulletin to the terrain, a companion rescue refresher, and to show people the many facets of our job.
At 12:30pm at 1850 m the temperature was -8 and it was snowing lightly. It was calm at lower elevations, however the wind was light from the south at ridgetop. The wind was lightly transporting some of the soft snow along ridge lines. There was 3 cm of new snow from the overnight. We observed no new avalanches throughout the day, and had no results from any of snow pit tests.
Thanks to everyone that came out to participate, it was a great day. And a huge thank you to Halo Contracting for all of your hard work, it doesn’t go unnoticed - we appreciate it! The trail up was freshly groomed and in great shape.
