Quick Observation
We stayed at Cameron Lake Hut from March 9-11. When we arrived in Waterton on Monday there was 40cm of light powder in town and 30-40cm storm snow in protected areas. We skied the southeast face of the ridge that leads up to Forum peak. We stayed in the burn and did not expose ourselves to overhead hazard. Snowpack depth on the southeast face we skied was 200cm. We found 45cm light storm snow on top of multiple layers of freeze thaw crusts. We did not observe any shooting cracks and did not hear whumphing. We did not trigger any avalanches but observed natural avalanches on Chapman Peaks north facing slope, up to size 2.
