Quick report

We dug multiple hand pits on south, east and north facing slopes and found the new snow was bonding well with the melt freeze crust. However anything wind loaded was quite touchy and we had one hand pit fail on isolation. It failed on a layer about 3” above the melt freeze crust. We didn’t find any buried surface hoar. The start zone was more wind loaded than we expected and the skier was able to ski out.
