Moderate snowfall and winds, about an inch an hour while skiing. Stayed out of big consequence terrain due to sensitive slabs on lee slopes. Less wind affected areas still had signs of yesterdays tracks but anything exposed to the wind and steep enough to slide probably would.
Avalanche
Made three runs on Cheap Date...maybe it's called 5 minute trees, got slides on every run up to 8" deep, 50 yards wide. The last run on the steeper nose of the knoll produced the largest slide that buried the skin track in the usual place on the sidehill, 3'-4' deep for 25 yards. When I first saw the skin track, I thought it was too close to the steep slopes for comfort, especially after the results I was getting. Not super deep slabs so I got lazy and followed the track. If anyone was there when the track was buried, they would probably have been knocked over and buried if they had been caught unaware. Next time, I'll listen to my instincts and not be lazy!
