Mt Broadwood

Spectacular day exploring under powerful sun. Weight-bearing crust (on skis) .... not so much on sled :-) dry loose facets under crust to 1500m ............. Pinwheeling, v moist snow and natural wet sluff releases (of top 5cm) to size 1.5 on solar aspects, no step-downs to lower layers, no cornice failures, no other naturals. Calm to v light winds allowing continued development of surface hoar.
