Mid-week mellow day White Pass

Travelled with field tech and forecaster in Fraser area to YAASUM weather station. Snowing lightly (S-1) with about 4 cm accumulation during day. Temp at 1300: -6 C, light SW winds. We made very conservative terrain choices and we travelled through an area that had already been slope-tested by sledders. Mid-January Melt-Freeze Crust still persistent concern. We found lots of facets 3-5mm below that crust, especially in shallower snowpack, this is only down 15-30cm. Hard windslab sits above that. On route out we skiied a wee bit of dust on crust.
