Feb 22nd, 2026 at 1:00pm Weather: cloudy with moderate visibility. Light to moderate snowfall throughout the day, approx. 3-5 inches of new snow accumulation. Light to moderate winds observed on the ridge crest with some evidence of transport near ridgetop features. Snowpack: Elevation: 5640' ~20 degree slope angle tested North aspect Snowpit depth was 85cm with notable layering observed within the snowpack: Upper crust layer: 45cm, Lower crust layer: 34cm Stability test result: ECTN - no crack initiation or propagation after 10 taps from wrist, 10 from elbow, and 10 from shoulder. No slab reactivity observed. Other observations: no wumphing, shooting cracks, or recent avalanche activity observed besides small loose dry sections. Travel notes: low angle terrain selection, entered the Mazama bowl skiers right instead of descending directly from the ridge.
