Quick report
Went out for a short tour with the AAIRE Class on 12.28. We stayed in the area to the right of timberline lodge to the side of the Magic Mile lift. We traveled through the terrain, making observations along the way, from 5800’ to about 6500’. Light precipitation later in the day came in the form of snow and rain. Good visibility and patches of low light with decreased visibility in the afternoon. We noticed signs of wind-transported snow from the last several days, a firm and wet snowpack, and general terrain hazards as a result of the low snowpack. Some fun turns on the way down. Soft over firm. Sticky at the bottom.
