Quick report
Pleasant day of skiing and observing. Found about a foot of new snow on top of a crust that made for pleasant riding conditions. Found that non polar aspects could have a slight crust but it was mostly avoidable and thin. Pit - dug a pit 85cm down on a NNW aspect just down from artist point at 4740 feet. Snow profile shown below. 30-40cm down was around 4 degrees colder than air temp. Found mostly dry decomposing fragments below the 3/12 melt freeze and wet decomposing fragments below it. Both CT and ECT failed 5cm down on only a few taps. The failures were non planar and irregular, with no energy. No other failures were observed.
Avalanche
Saw tons of small soft slab wind pockets pull out. Never very large. Unconfirmed but likely failing on the inter-storm layer where irregular failures were seen.
