Went for some great runs down the landslide area as well as open trees. Fresh snow (~30cm) had covered the uptracks. The snow was light and dry as the temps fluctuated -5 to -10 with light westerly winds. Coverage was good but stumps and deadfall are still prominent.
Dug a test pit at the landslide open area on a 25° NE slope with variable depths (70-85cm) due to uneven ground. CTM 6 (SP), CTM 8 (SP). A sudden planar break down 21cm on faceted rounded grains could prove an issue later on in the season but it's looking like a solid snowpack so far. The snowpack below the break was 1f- to the ground. We also investigated a deeper layer ~3cm thick that was extremely resistant to breaking but did pop and propagate past CTH 30.
