Mount Goldie

An avalanche was triggered remotely whilst skinning up the East side of the North ridge of Mt Goldie, approx 650m from the summit. A very loud whumph was heard as we broke through the treeline, which triggered a size 2 avalanche approximately 100m away. This slide then caused a further size 2.5 avalanche to occur across much of the bowl on the North East side of Mt Goldie, starting in the alpine, close to the summit.
