Ice climbing: Shades/Stanley Sr.

Climbed Stanley Sr & Shades of Beauty today. Stanley was sun affected & offered poor protection for the first ~15m. Broke trail through 3" unsupportive melt-freeze crust overlying waist deep facets, yuck. Good climbing to be had on the top section, steeper than usual. Shades was excellent. Significant pinwheels & small wet-loose observed on the approach slopes to Shades by the time we departed. Pictured is the overhead, taken from Stanley Sr.
