Good powder at and below treeline. Strongly wind-affected snow on the exposed ridge. Shooting cracks about 50cm long while skinning back up Flatiron Bowl.
Winds on the north-south ridge leading towards Flatiron Bowl were so strong that skinning was very difficult. In one spot along the skintrack, on our way back, we noticed a chunk, about once cubic meter in size, had broken off a small cornice, likely pushed over by the winds. It had fallen onto a gentle slope and had not triggered an avalanche.
