A skier triggered an avalanche in an open bowl feature, was swept through trees and over a cliff, and buried 1.8 m deep in a gully. Partner located the buried victim with transceiver and probe and another group assisted with digging. Once uncovered, the victim was found breathing but had sustained multiple injuries. The victim was transported to hospital via helicopter.
