Quick Observation
We were planning to go to the Mount Invincible col but turned around 100m meters below the col because of a thick to thin snowpack and a wind loaded NE feature similar to the one that slide several days ago as seen in the photos. The snow in the alpine was wind hammered, leaving a bullet proof surface in spots and punchy skiing in other areas. The snow was ok at the treeline but got heavier as we descended. The higher temperatures today made the snow in the trees feel like early Spring. This area of K-country needs a reset of new snow. Temperature at the road at 3:00pm was 0 C. The wind was moderate from the SW most of the day with gusts around 70km at times.
Avalanche Information
It was surprising to see how far the debris travelled down a 20-25 degree slope. We did not witness the avalanche but it looked more that 48 hours old (BTW the website did not allow me to clear the avalanche date/time that I mistakenly clicked)
