Chickadee Valley, Boom Mountain slide paths

We skied the third avalanche chute from the road from about 10am-1pm. On our skin up, there was avalanche debris in the chute from what looked like a possible cornice failure, about a week old. There was about 5cm on top of hard avalanche debris, and about 15-20cm of powder throughout the rest of the main avy path. We stayed on top of ridges to avoid main avalanche chutes, but still skied some great turns.

We observed 4 avalanches in multiple avy paths ranging from size 1 to size 2, which looked to be wind slab failure in the alpine due to solar warming. I will be talking primarily about the biggest slide, size 2 which happened one avy path west of where we skied. These avalanches happened some time between 3pm to 5pm. Temperate was measured at -5 Celsius at 1pm at 2000m with strong solar effect. The avalanches looked to start from point triggers on rock faces, near shallow snowpack in the steep alpine. The size 2 avalanche crown was about 50m wide, but it appeared to pick up mass as it continued through the historical slide paths. The avalanche stopped on 30 degree terrain, and ran through small trees. Although there did not look to be any skier involvement, the avalanche covered many ski tracks from backcountry users today and ran through the glades, below 2000m.
