Above treeline, I found a snowpack still 130 cm deep. About 15 cm of this was new snow at about 4F in hardness. This new snow sits on very firm crust. Quick hand shears and shovel tilt tests didn't reveal any concerning interfaces in the new snow. Near treeline, the crust beneath the new snow is less firm. I found 4F hard wet snow beneath this crust. The wet snow seems to be draining and hardening under the cooler temperatures.
