Boundary lake area ski - snowpack had a good supportive feeling on the skin track. headed up to ski the south facing run and then lapped the north facing trees. Wind affected snow pressed into a nice styrofoam above 2200 (no surprise) - below that, about 25cm of low density snow (cold smoke) on the top of a supportive snowpack, looks like the November crust is decomposing and the bottom 25cm of the snowpack is a mix of facets and depth hoar. Skiing was great in the north facing trees! No instabilities noted. HS at 2150m: 90cm. Keep the tips up over the early season hazards, those friendly looking Christmas trees are best avoided.
Layers noted: 90-85 (F) 85-60 (4F) 60-53 (1F) 53-25 (1F), 25-0 (4F) (November crust is decomposing)
