McDermott Hut

3 days in the McDermott area, temps rose but stayed below freezing at cabin elevation. Wind slab present underneath ~5-15cm of fresh snow. Skied awesome, observed whumphing once on a fresh skin track up close to a convex slope at ridge top, but no other movement other than sluffage. Ski cut, high marked, dropped cornices, still no movement. I’d expect a huge natural cycle however, if temps rose above zero in that area. Snow was slightly heavier at cabin elevation on the second and third day.
