Quick report
Ski tourer with skins on triggered a small wind slab while skiing along the Snow Devil Ridge crest at about noon. Crown depth 10-25 cm, propagated about 10 m wide and slid about 30 vertical m before stopping at a concavity in the slope below. Bed surface was a stout melt freeze crust. This avalanche was very small relative to the terrain, and was no threat to the party involved, but illustrates a potential hazard in more complex/consequential terrain. On our tour, we found few areas where wind slab reached a depth or width enough to merit concern. Mainly, the wind seemed to have redistributed the available snow far down the lee slopes.
