Quick report
On Friday at 2pm around 3300 ft. on a WSW facing slope in the lower Microdot meadows, we observed 15 cm of new snow over the wind-affected surfaces from earlier in the week. The new snow was very soft, with no wind-affect (and skied great). Around 3500 ft. in the Microdot Basin, new snow accumulations increased to ~20-30 cm, and this layer was breaking as a soft slab on the interface below in hand shears. We did not observe any cracking, collapsing, or avalanches. During the day, skies transitioned from obscure to overcast. Winds were light from the south, and we measured a temperature of -3C at 2pm. It was snowing when we started our tour, with a break midday, before the precipitation changed to freezing rain as we were taking our last run.
