- <p>There was a prominent weak layer 26cm up from the ground. We were expecting stability tests to fail on this layer, but it turned out to be stubborn and instead the tests were failing on the ground. The bottom 26cm of snowpack was facets that had frozen together.</p>
We were surprised that the weak layer was not reactive in our stability tests.
