Quick report

Collapsing
isolated

Went on a short tour to gauge the snowpack after the storms and maybe ski some good powder, accomplished both. Jumping on isolated 30+ slopes produced no results until I got to about 8k, where there was some minor collapsing. I dug a snow pit to the ground at 8k and found the most recent storm at fist hardness, with a wet and faceted rain layer underneath, but it wasn’t as slick as I expected. Beneath that the Christmas Eve storm layer went straight to the ground at 4F hardness. Tests failed to produce any results.
