Snowpack
Intermittent visibility. Traveled to 6,775', descended SE aspect to Revett Lake. No signs of natural avalanche activity. Variable surface with supportable wind board on NE ridge and some cracking localized around skis. One new looking glide crack on SE aspect at approx. 6000'. Dug two pits today: 1) NW, 6,440', HS 285, approx. 60cm of 4F over a thin layer of 4F- over thick P hard slab, ECTN12@30cm from surface that continued to fracture partway across column with additional strikes, likely N/O Interface in similar density snow, slid easily with insertion of shovel after completion of test. 2)SE, 6500', HS 175, ECTN15@27cm from surface on low density layer just above stout sun crust. Found thin, <15cm, surface soft slabs on some steep slopes.
