Quick report

Although there was no propagation on our ECT test and we did not see any other signs of instability, we felt that the identification of the problem layer, and the recent observations/events in the middle fork, were enough for us to feel a high level of uncertainty. The transition from unconsolidated and non-cohesive recent snow to a soft slab-like structure also added to our concern. No signs of instability noted outside of snowpit

Warmer day. Large wet snowflakes fell for most of the morning and tapered on and off during the afternoon. Not a lot of accumulation was noted.

Snowpack

Snow Pit Test : 6800' E aspect 185cm depth CT5 @ 28cm ECT11 @ 28cm (no propagation) The layer failed roughly 15cm above the early February crust. The layer was lightly visible but the hardness change was hardly discernable. Curious as to what caused this weak layer to form! Roughly 8 inches of soft slab-like snow on top of the layer that failed.
