Trying out the new Avy App to submit a quick observation. • 3-4 inches of recent snow at middle elevations. Ridge top in this location stays below 6500’. • Winds were very calm all day, but things were transitioning around 3pm with stormy skies on the horizon and light-moderate winds out of the southwest. • Widespread evidence of moderate- strong winds overnight. We stuck to windward slopes today to avoid recently formed wind slabs. • We observed cracking on crossloaded terrain features while skinning. Shooting cracks observed were all less than about 4 feet in length and confined to the upper 4 inches of snow. • Best riding conditions were found in terrain that was sheltered from the strong overnight winds. • Trail is in good shape, however it is no longer completely clear of deadfall.0
