We toured into Main Gully this AM via GoS ski trail, which is skiing reasonably well except for a half mile chunk in the middle that's seen some serious wind. We observed a poorly bonded 4F windslab that was ~4 cm thick throughout East aspects. Below the ice bulge, this slab was less-prevalent but the winds have transported enough snow to obscure any evidence of the skier-triggered slide on Saturday. We observed cracking that propagated up to 10 feet in areas protected by the wind on skier's left. We then moved into the Sandbox, where we found an extremely variable snow surface. At approximately 4,600 ft, we kicked off consolidated, ~4-8cm thick 4F windslabs that were 5-10 feet wide and observed cracking when crossing planar, wind-loaded, E-facing slopes. Our observations align with the forecasted problem underneath ridgelines and in convex features.
