-
Checking pretty much all the boxes.

Counted 6 natural avalanches this morning that occurred late on 20240112 or overnight. See individual obs for those.

Cracking was not major, no shooting cracks, just what would be expected with cohesive wind and storm slab underfoot.

Had a very large collapse at about 6400ft near the switchback out of Refrigerator Canyon. The collapse propagated across the drainage and back again, with rolling whumpfing. Noted a handful of other smaller collapses when stepping out of skin track.

Despite the aforementioned, test slopes with stubborn and unreactive aside from some dry loose not more than 15cm deep.

Snowpack
Snow surface was initially somewhat cakey in the morning from overnight wind effects, but became increasingly dense throughout the day with additional wind. Still powder, but much more cohesive and a bit heavier.
