Cornice danger

<p>Our group got to witness a large cornice failure from a safe distance. No one was involved, but was rider triggered. Picture shows the avi path (the snow cleared trees). Large cracks present along the ridge top for the remaining cornices.</p>

Alpine slopes, Dense trees, Mellow slopes, Open trees, Sunny slopes.

Terrain Avoided

Convex slopes, Steep slopes.

Avalanche Conditions

30cm + of new snow, or significant drifting, or rain in the last 48 hours.

Snow Conditions

Heavy, Powder.

Weather Conditions

Sunny, Warm.
