Getting wintery in White Pass. Sunny today. -10C. Wind has shifted to the north and is transporting new snow into slabs. Evidence of wind slab avalanches to size 2 approximately 24-36 hours old on steep, immediate lee, north aspects. A quick dig revealed 100cm of snow at 1100m. 35cm low density, settling storm snow sits on a 15cm thick crust. Bottom 50cm is wet forms from previous rain event. Riding quality was good, especially in sheltered areas however North winds were brisk at upper elevations and surface was becoming quite wind affected. Old buried wind slabs on north aspects and new wind slabs forming on souths. Coverage is actually decent. Usual early season hazards (trees, rocks, pits, open water, general shnarb)......
