Montana Bowl

Our intention today was to ski off the backside of Montana Peak. When we got up there, we found a significant wind slab at ridgetop, with a big convex roll to get into our run (see photo). Two quick hand shears produced very easy results about 15-20cm down, so we turned around and skied off the front side into Montana Bowl instead. Conditions were great in the Bowl.
For lap two we skinned up Roscoe's. We followed an old skin track to start, but it was filled in by the wind higher up. Vis was limited so we skied Kokanee Trees for lap two instead of going right to to top. Snow was great higher up but heavier lower down, probably because it had received more sun.
