K country explore

nathanppage, Monday 4th April, 2022 10:35PM

Did a quick outing to check out some new storm snow. Arrived in the parking lot to no obvious fesh snow at 230pm. Could see dirt in the parking lot and the smith-dorrion was pretty much dry. Snowed hard the whole time I was out skinning. Went to explore a northerly aspect on some mellow and sheltered areas. snow was ankle deep around 4 pm at tree line. Didn't see any wind slab formation. Snow was fluffy and slightly sticky. No signs of instability through the day. Ride quality would have been better if the crust wasn't there but hey it was still pretty soft and fun! Gear was soaked at the end of the day. Hiway was covered when I left and no bare road to be seen until the 40! Hope this helps!

Weather Report

Wind was strongest in alpine. Didn't notice it much on northerly aspect. Accumulating snow wasn't pushed around by the wind that was present in my observations.
