Quick report
Numerous wet slab avalanches occurred during the previous few days prior to my trip to the valley on May 10th. The snow is quite deep above 1,700' - maybe 4'-5' deep and fully spring-like. Impossible to hike due to post-holing. Only traversable with snowshoes. Even then, I would frequently get stuck after sinking several feet. The avalanches typically started above 3,000' and descended to the valley floor at about 2,000'. Maybe half of the west side of the valley had released. The largest of the avalanches was started by a ram sheep that did not survive the event.

Numerous wet slab avalanches on both sides (mostly the west side) of the Falls Creek valley above 1,800' observed on May 10th. Some ran down about 1,500' to the valley bottom. The avalanche debris appeared to be 2-3 days old.
