We skied two laps on the NNE to N aspect of fish creek knob-more or less following the ridge down. Ski quality was excellent and we observed no signs of instability on some short steep slopes. On our third lap we went slightly higher than before, onto the final steep section of the slope. I broke trail to a rock outcropping on the ridge where the aspect changed to NW, and a large avalanche broke with a woomph at my ski tips I was not caught and we descended the same way as before.

The avalanche broke with a high energy collapse on a rain crust layer, likely from March 6ish. The crown propagated vertically up the slope and appeared to wrap lookers right towards the top of the gill. Depth was variable but appeared approximately 2' deep on average. The powder cloud went down many hundreds of feet to the flat runout of the North Face.
