Today in the Hasler riding area we had a very warm sunny day (+3.5). The snow was pretty wet by the end of the day with the high temps and was starting to get pretty heavy. We dug our pit on a south facing aspect at 1400m around tree line. The slope we dug on had a shallow snowpack at 100cm. We had a few layers of concern our first was a sun crust 20cm down sitting on facets reacting in the moderate range at (CTM13). Our next layer was down 40cm this layer is was facets reacting in the hard range at (CTH23) or final concern was that at CTH26 the whole snowpack collapsed on the basal facets at 100cm down. Play safe and have fun out there!
